At the end of 2012 AITA commissioned the State of the Industry Survey by Love Bytes Research to gauge the needs of AITA members and the UK Adult Industry. The key survey areas included attitudes to the adult industry, health issues for performers and awareness and role of AITA. Further to recent changes within his adult business Strictly Broadband, Jerry Barnett has stepped down as Chairman of AITA as of Monday 10th Dec and Jason Maskell has stepped in as interim Chairman till the end of March 2013 . Sexual Health Protocols Update

On Wednesday 31st October AITA and UKAP hosted an open meeting for performers and producers of the UK adult industry to discuss the draft health protocols and future needs of the industry relating to testing standards being set. A lively discussion was had by those that turned up to this meeting with points raised regarding the recent syphilis scare which have been taken onboard by AITA. AITA is seeking deeper levels of clarity on the position of ATVOD. Whilst we fully support the issue of protecting minors from viewing inappropriate content, the stance taken by ATVOD is, in our opinion, a short term solution that penalizes UK business and individuals who trade on a global stage. AITA/UKAP arrange date for Open Health meeting!

AITA and UKAP are holding an open health meeting for all UK adult producers and performers to discuss the current draft health protocols and their adoption across the UK industry. The meeting will be held on Wednesday 31st October in London, starting at 14:30. AITA Syphilis outbreak statement.

Whilst it does not normally comment on isolated, contained and resolved processes, AITA announces that in the month of September it was notified of a positive result for Syphilis from a UK based adult performer.  This was picked up using the standard testing procedures, and the AITA health protocols were successfully followed following notification of this result.
